Autism Awareness 5K Run & Family Fun

Put on your running shoes and join us for our annual Autism Awareness 5K Run & Family Fun event. West Tennessee Hearing and Speech Center is holding our annual 5K Run on July 3, 2018 at 7:00 pm, to raise funds for our Center. This event is the primary fundraiser for our Center and each year we use it as a platform to raise awareness for autism in West Tennessee.

Join us at Hub City Brewing to celebrate the gift of communication!  Speaking of Art is a fundraising event for West Tennessee Hearing and Speech Center (WTHSC). Donations through this event provide financial assistance to children and adults within the community who need help paying for treatment and devices, or other services that will allow them to communicate better.

We invite you to join us for an evening of beautiful art, entertainment, and most importantly, a VOICE for those with hearing and speech disabilities. All art on display will be for sale with the proceeds going to WTHSC.

Cover-To-Cover Book Club

Cover-to-Cover Book Club is a unique book club designed for adolescents and young adults with special needs. 

Cover-to-Cover staff modifies the reading material to meet the reader at his/her reading level, encouraging literacy, communication, social language, and discussion each week. The group meets at the West Tennessee Hearing and Speech Center weekly. Funding is provided by grants from Autism Speaks and the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. Participation is free.

Language Camp
Week 1 (ages 4 - 6) July 8 -11, 2019
Week 2 (ages 7 - 9) July 15-18, 2019
Location: West Tennessee Hearing and Speech Center

Camp is for all children age 4 – 9 experiencing articulation, language, oral motor, fluency, auditory processing, and feeding disorders. We have 4 group sessions planned. Each of them is packed with fun, language-based activities, supplemented with speech and listening games.

Falling in Love with Silence

Falling in Love with Silence tells the story of four teenagers who struggle with real-world conflict, pain, and growth. They learn to not only embrace and overcome their own insecurities but also to love the imperfections in each other.

They will have both signing and speaking scenes accompanied by subtitles. Much of the proceeds will go to funding resources in our local deaf community.
