Autism Awareness 5K Run & Family Fun
July 3, 2018 at 7:00 pm
Put on your running shoes and join us for our annual Autism Awareness 5K Run & Family Fun event. West Tennessee Hearing and Speech Center is holding our annual 5K Run on July 3, 2018 at 7:00 pm, to raise funds for our Center. This event is the primary fundraiser for our Center and each year we use it as a platform to raise awareness for autism in West Tennessee.
Speaking of Art
Speaking of Art is a fundraising event to support an assistive technology library at the West Tennessee Hearing and Speech Center (WTHSC). The library enables WTHSC to train and fit individuals in West Tennessee with the appropriate speech generating devices.
We invite you to join us for an evening of beautiful art, entertainment, and most importantly, HOPE for those with hearing and speech disabilities. All art on display will be for sale with the proceeds going to WTHSC.
Cover-to-Cover Book Club is a unique book club designed for adolescents and young adults with special needs.
Cover-to-Cover staff modifies the reading material to meet the reader at his/her reading level, encouraging literacy, communication, social language, and discussion each week. The group meets at the West Tennessee Hearing and Speech Center weekly. Funding is provided by grants from Autism Speaks and the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. Participation is free.
Camp is for all children age 4 – 9 experiencing articulation, language, oral motor, fluency, auditory processing, and feeding disorders. We have 4 group sessions planned. Each of them is packed with fun, language-based activities, supplemented with speech and listening games.
